What Are Lash Extensions:

Semi permanent lash extensions are a professional salon service involving the placement of individual extensions onto your natural lash. Your initial session will take approximately 3 hours. Subsequent appointments will last anywhere from 45 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes, depending on how often you are coming in.

 

The added volume, length and curl will leave your lashes looking gorgeous from the moment you wake up until you fall asleep, saving you precious time during your morning routine.

 

Just as you would expect, today's higher quality lash extensions are soft, weightless and a true extension of the natural lash. This requires fewer touch-ups and salon visits.

 

Maintenance & Touch Ups: Semi-permanent lashes are permanent with regular touch-ups. Every 30-45 days approximately 1/3 to 1/2 of your natural lashes fall out. As each lash sheds, a new eye lash is replacing the old. General maintenance is, therefore, needed to keep your lashes looking full and natural.

 

Eye Lash Growth Cycle: The average adult generally has 100-150 eyelashes in the upper lid and 35-80 eyelashes in the lower lid. Hair follows a three phase growth cycle - Anagen, Catagen & Telogen.

 

I. Anagen Phase: The Anagen phase is known as the Growth phase. This is when lashes are actively growing and lasts from 30-45 days. Only about 40% of the upper lashes and 15% of the lower lashes are in the Anagen phase at any time. Each lash will grow to a specific length and then stop.

 

II. Catagen Phase: The Catagen phase is known as the Transition phase. During this time, the lash stops growing and the hair follicle begins to shrink in preparation for shedding to make way for new growth.

 

III. Telogen Phase: The Telogen phase is known as the Resting phase. Because each individual lash is in its own phase; or growth cycle, it is normal for a few lashes to fall out daily. It typically takes eight to twelve weeks for this cycle to fully replace an eyelash.
